Definitely prefer Rainbow Children
Actually, this is one of my favourite Prince albums of all time. I've even grown to love THAT NARRATIVE VOICE.... Rave isn't bad by any means, but TRC really worked for me (and no, I'm not JW, not really having any faith as such). It will be interesting to see how further responses go to this ?..... Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.

Rave, I guess. At least it has no Vader narration and offensive lyrics.
To be honest though, both pretty much suck. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Rave. I guess because it is more pop. RC is more Jazz.

Fuck, Rave is trying to be mainstream pop trash, Rainbow Children is about bad ass hooks and funky bass lines, doing yer own thing. Rave blows.

Rave is Prince at his most desperate.
TRC is Prince in his comfort zone. The naysayers will say what they will--offensive lyrics, Vader voice, religious propaganda, blah blah blah and more blah blah--but it can't be denied for the people that can experience TRC for what it is, that Prince found his niche with this album. It's a beautiful thing. Asking what's better, Rave or TRC, is like asking what's better, fish sticks or lobster.

raindow children is my pick over rave. one should appreciate the coming of prince leading to his jazz renaisance. the sound, the music, the lyrics are well scripted. each song builds upon the next. it's hard for to listen to just 1 track, i feel almost "compelled" to listen from beginning 2 end.
rave has a few good songs, but too much of a mainstream sound for the time. this cd would have been cutting edge if delivered a few years before its actual release. must be something in the water they drink..

What does everyone think of P's cover of "Everyday Is A Winding Road?"
I like it better than the orignal. But I like the orignal..but I liked P's better. Same with "One Of US." Maybe I'm funky like that, who knows? [Edited 7/10/05 8:32am]
