Isn't that the project he did with Poet99? I have about 7 track total. The brief version is that there was this female DJ who handed him a tape outside a club one night. It was her rapping. He went into the studio later that night and added music beds to her raps. It has a new-agey feel to it...kinda. She also appeared on one of his singles later on down the road...i think 1999 The New Master.

Question: Is Poet99 the same as slam poetess jessica Care moore? moore had a long run as winner on Showtime at the Apollo. She was incredible!

Anyway, Poet99's voice sounds exactly like moore's, and even some of the verses from "Joint 2 Joint" reminded me of things I'd heard moore say. Maybe the Poet99 moniker was a Prince-given nickname? I dunno.

For what it is worth, there is no mention of work with Prince in Jessica Care Moore's website biograpohy.

If you do a google seach on AMP you'll find more info on Poet 99.She's actually NuYorican=New York + Puerto Rican & had some of her poetry published in the book called Aloud: Voices from the Nuyorican Poets' Cafe
