From time to time I wonder

Why does Prince release what a number of people believe to be somewhat lesser

versions of some tracks he's done as compared to the final ones on album?

One of the main ones i'm thinking about is We Can Funk. The one on Graffiti

Bridge sounds ok and if you really try to get into it you can like it but

in my opinion, it sounds as if the unreleased one he does thats very long

and he calls for Miko to play at the end is a much better and more interesting

sounding song. His vocal perfomance is better, the music is better and all.

It just makes me wonder why we got "that" We can funk on there instead of

the one unreleased. Also other tracks he's done that he gave to other people

that they released on their albums but you can hardly tell because noone knew

about or bought them or anything hardly was said about them. One of the main

songs i'm thinking about in this case is "Neon Telephone" that has to be one

of the most explosive, exciting and fun Prince songs i've ever heard but yet

and still people say its been out because he gave it to 3 O'clock which I

never had even heard about or saw an album by that group in the store and

even if I had it wouldn't be the Prince version, which it seems like i'll

never hear again. I was just curious. Do you think Warner made him change

them up because like We Can Funk was so long? and thats why we got the watered

down version mastered and released or was it his decision. God only knows

why we never got to hear a clear, great sounding gem like Neon Telephone.

I just wonder from time to time. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this.
"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

I'm sure it's his choice, for there are better versions from other songs that are released past Warners, for example Empty Room or Endorphine Machine
Futuristic Fantasy
