Power Fantastic Vs. Pink Cashmere Power Fantastic and Pink Cashmere 2 of Prince's non-released traks. Also 2 great musically acclaimed masterpieces, that either 1 should have been released would have been money. Power Fantastic's jazzy beat seems that it could B played in a resturant. Pink Cashmere's cool, suttle high pitched voice. Power Fantastic's smooth ass classical panio feel, and lets not talk about the horns man please! So, which 1 do U think is the best, and which 1 do U think would of had better success had been released. Thank U, Pease Always Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Tough choice! My love for both of them runs too deep to decide, so I won't. Had he released either, they'd have had monsterous success, IMO.

Both r equally beautiful songs, it is a tough choice. But after reading how Power Fantastic was recorded it made me appreciate it even more.

I love Pink Cashmere. I played this non-stop back in '93 and it's one of my favorite Prince cuts. Check me out and add me on:

Power Fantastic has always been my favorite Prince song. Being a musician, I can really appreciate the harmonies. They aren't very orthodox, and, damn, that trumpet and flute work is outright killer! Smooth as silk!
Pink Cashmere is a really cool track also. I like the synth string parts in it a lot.

"Pink Cashmere" was released as a single. It didn't do well at all. And "Power Fantastic" is even much more eclectic in sound and probably would've done worse. But I love both to death!

I gotta vote two solid poops down on both of those clunkers. Whoo boy was he over-reaching on those tunes. Pink Cashmere was pop-lite crap, and Power Fantastic - that's GOT to be one of those "what the hell was I thinking?" songs for him.

Wouldn't that have made a lovely single.

Power Fantastic hands down.
Pink Cashmere is nice, but Power Fantastic is its own force of nature. It creates its own mood. (Might have to listen to it ASAP) I loved Power Fantastic before I caught the words. The music is the key for me. I'm firmly planted in denial

Pink Cashmere, it's Adore Pt. II
I LOOOVE Power Fantastic is a beautiful beautiful song, but I couldnt get the same feeling after listnening to it again after it just went off. I read they had chills afterwards, and took that song in one take. But Pink Cashmere's strings and Prince's per4mance is marvelous. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Power Fantastic..
Pink Cashmere isnt even anywhere near that genius... Space for sale...

I really can't choose between the two because they are so different in scope. Power Fantastic is pure genius and illustrates the beauty of a band working as a consolidated unit live in the studio. The spiritually charged lyrics and accoustic base enhances the song's ethereal nature. Power Fantastic is an atmospheric masterpiece.
Conversely, Pink Cashmere contains very honest and sentimental lyrics about love and appreciating finding someone (that we later found out to be Anna Garcia/Fantastic). Prince's rotation between acoustic and electric guitar, a simple beat machine and the use of strings combine to provide an excellent backdrop for the trademark falsetto. Pink Cashemere is a stab at classic soul with the proverbial Prince twist. The Santana esque guitar lines during the instrumental portion of the song are damn good as well. Pink Cashmere is a truly beautiful song that starts off so delicate and builds until the listener feels Prince's happiness and joy along with the frustration of wanting to let the world know. I love them both, but I don't think choosing between the two is a fair comparison because the subject matter and execution is so different. They are both genius songs and I love each of them equally for different reasons... [Edited 7/3/05 9:54am]

pink cashmere would be more commercially accepted than power fantastic. with that being said, i would acknowledge that power fantastic is a better song (arrangements etc...) must be something in the water they drink..

I loved Pink Cashmere the first time I heard it, but its one of those songs that gets old quick, Power Fantastic doesnt get old, maybe because I havent played it as much

You cant compare these two songs at all. Power Fanastic is only comparable with Purple Rain, and it probably beats that too. Especially when you consider it was recorded in one take. Its so strong, chilling even, which is the feeling the lyrics convey too. job well done. a masterpiece.
