Prince CD set I never heard of

http://www.cdtrader1.com/...rince.html
Anyone ever hear of this set being released to the public? If so, any idea how to obtain it? I for one have never heard of the Work.. but all the songs make it seem worthwhile...

Wow, that looks like a great set if the quality is good. I'm not quite up on the bootlegs. There was a shop in my city that had a lot but closed before I was able to buy more than a couple.

If anyone knows of a reliable place to get bootlegs (the actual cd's or cdr's - not downloads) send me an org note. I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have vol 1 and 2 on CD. The sound quality varies. Everything that is one them is floating around out there on something or another. If you don`t have any bootlegs (and you would like to have a group of them spanning mosts of P`s career) then by all means get them.

Most studio bootlegs you will ever need are on there. But the sound quality varies from very staticky and poor to good. Oh, and a couple of tracks here and there aren't sung by Prince but others, like the NPG, Mayte, Jill Jones etc it just isn't listed as such.

This is one of the most essential bootleg-sets.
The Work Volumes 1 and 2 should be in every serious Prince collection.
The quality of these unreleased songs is in general outstanding!

So

A) Try to find yourself a copy of those boots

or

B) Try to find yourself a copy of the DVD Revelations 2.1, which contains every unreleased song in MP3 format

The first in a series of 5 classic bootlegs. This volume could easily have been almost twice the size that it is as there's a lot of material from Work in progress and Sound 80 that is not included, but what is here is magnificent. One highlight is the long version of 'I would die 4 U' which is around 30 minutes long; the 12" mix of the song was just edited down from the version here. The quality of the material is very high all the way through and this set serves as a nice introduction to the contents of Prince's vault. Unmissable.

I have 8 volumes in my set. I heard there was a 9th also, but have yet to know anyone who has it.

Yep, 9 volumes, but just 5 "official".

Volumes 1 - 5 are pressed bootlegs released by the now-defunct Thunderball label (formerly Moonraker).

Volumes 6 - 9 are fan-made CD-Rs/mp3s.

I have all 5 volumes of this set and I highly recommend this. Everything you could ever want is here. The volumes that I have are in perfect condition and the quality is excellent. I copped mine from a cat in Jersey for $60 and I love it!
