Is there a Welcome 2 The Dawn (erm) normal version?

I really love this track on the Truth disc and until now just realised it's an acoustic version. Is there a normal non-acoustic version?????

if nobody has heard it, how can we say for certain that an alternate version does exist?

How do we know Uranus exists without ever seeing it? Because top scientists tell us it exists.

Same with this. Top scientists say the normal version exists.

Err, no. We just assume there is a 'normal' version otherwise why would Prince put (acoustic version) after it's name on The Truth album? He didn't put that after any of the other tracks, and they're all acoustic. ish. So we can also infer that there are no 'normal' versions of all those other tracks.

I understand, but its still only an inference isn't it? people have replied with a conclusive 'yes' with nothing to validate it.

I'd probably put money on the idea that another version does exist but i couldnt say for sure. Your response was more accurate as it pointed out the possibility.

heard it....back when i was working for cingular my girl kortney had someone from pp play it to her voicemail..it was only like a 30 second snippet...we used to listen to it over and over and dance (cause we were retarded like that)...

this was back in 98 or so.....way before crystal ball and way before i was a (hardcore) fan of princes....

i remembered it simply because she had made a big deal about receiving it...

Crystal Ball WAS '97, at least that is the publishing date on the liner notes so it was put together then.

Isn't there a chance that what you heard on the voicemail was simply the acoustic version, after all, it was only 30 seconds of a track you hadn't heard before on a staticky phone recording and it was years and years ago now so tricks could be being played on your imagination.

Isn't there a chance?!

Isn't there?!

And remember, you are under oath...

Maybe your memory is playing tricks about hearing a different version. (If you heard it on the phone, and this was the first time you heard it, it could just be your unfamiliarity with it that is skewing your memory?

It was released before Crystal Ball. It was first available on that Holy River cassette single they gave away at Borders (I think it was Borders or Barns & Noble, some American bookstore) - great cover artwork from the promo video.
