You know it took nearly 10 years for me to understand the main lyric? I could never understand what the hell he was talking about till one day I was filling out some form and it came to the section for race and as I was marking the appropriate box, the lyric came to mind and made complete sense!

Race... now that was a great song live. If my memory goes back accurately (must be more than 10 years ago now) he was playing Race, and 2gether (along with Johnny and another track or two from the first NPG album), and Endorphine Machine, on tour before they'd been released in any form.
That was a really great tour. What year? '93? Ahh, happy days. The same tour where, in Birmingham (UK), he was having such a good time he threw in all these new tunes and over-ran the curfew. You could see besuited official venue management lurking in the wings, looking for a way to get him off stage. So he tells the crowd: "They say they're going to fine me if I carry on playing. You know what? Let's pay the fine!". Show goes on another 20 min at least. Sorry, reminiscing and can't stop. Sam, Chris, Terri, anyone, in case you're out there, do drop me a line somehow. I lost all my phone numbers! Paul, London

have a great weekend moonwalker Yeah! I never realised till I heard the Beastie Boys say in "Right Right Now Now": I went to get a loan and they asked my race I wrote down human inside the space It's a disgrace how they try to debase It ain't the bank's damn business how my lineage trace I always thought "In the space, I mark human" was a surreal line about marking your name in blood or something... I found it very goth, very surreal.
