I wished Prince would have produced a rock group.

Rick Rubin produced rap bands and then one day he produced The Black Crowes first record, and then The Cult's Electric. These two records are definitive rock records.

I can't help but believe that Prince could take a rock band and do amazing things with them - NOT manufacturing a rock band like Mazerati, but picking some indie unknown group and turning out a straight-ahead rock record. Given his work on his own rocking stuff, I'm sure it would be awesome.

I volunteer myself for the project, but, surely it's already been done, right? Did he produce somebody and I just missed it?

i don't think that would be such a good idea. prince isn't versed enough in rock - especially indie rock - to produce that kind of band. i could see him producing maybe a funk-rock kind of jam band, like a young version of the chili peppers or something.

Not a rock band, but Prince tried to sign The Cocteau Twins to Paisley Park in the early 90's.

Mazarati was considered a rock band.

I think it would be cool if Prince worked with a rock band
now, rather than all the predictible R&B artists like Beyonce, Alicia
Keys and D'Angelo, etc.

He needs some high energy rock music to really make his guitar moan
If you will, so will I
