I first got to listen to this song this weekend and i've got to say i lovin it. i like the whole mood of the song. it's a cool ass song.

It is indeed a great track. Very dark and reflects the mood and tone of the Batman movie perfectly.

I've always wondered how the samples on the various Batman album songs came about. I know Prince visited the set, but surely Burton must have give Prince a finished/rough-cut to watch, and Prince trawled through the film and said, "I want that bit of dialogue, and that bit, and that bit, please"? Cos I've always thought it's so cool of Prince that he could foresee a bit of dialogue interwoven into one of his songs.

I mean, take this song. The title comes from the bit of dialogue the joker says. so Prince obviously heard it and thought, "I can make a whole song out of those words."

And again with the dialogue "No one can stop 200 balloons!" Prince obviously went "I know, I'll write a song called '200 Balloons'!

It's just shows Prince's great imagination.

In a way, the scriptwriter should have been a credited as co-author of some of the Batman tracks, surely?

It's very cinematic and more closely tied to the themes of the movie than the released tracks. And to think some people don't want you to listen to boots because Prince doesn't want you to

Point is, you're not supposed to outright ask for these things. It's not an official release, and thus, as you know, is a bootleg. To ask for these things here are grounds for being banned.

So, the notion of you being banned for asking for a copy of a bootleg? Yeah, it's plausable. It's best not to ask on the forums, and is a rule around here as well.

Technically, it is against the Org rules to post tracks, this is so that Prince's lawyers don't have a reason to sue the Org, they seem to be very touchy about bootlegs and even threatened to shut Housequake down for just discussing them not so long back. Marrk was just pointing this out in an off-the-cuff kind of way - Orgers often ask for tracks to be posted and it can get a bit exasperating setting them straight time and again. So, you know, don't take it too personally.
