What Prince songs sound better live to you?

I love Strange Relationship, one of my favs but I rarely

I gotta hear it live!! my personal favorite is the Aladdin dvd

sovembol

1st ones that come to mind are "Prettyman" and "Everyday Is a Winding Road".. comes to mind the Mill City fest where he played the songs before the album came out... blew my mind, but on record they didn't have the same Umph!!!

"Anna Stesia" is SOOO cool on record but has a totally different feel live..its better, but not better..lol..just different, same goes with "Joy in Repitition"

"Gett Off" is really cool live, until he started doing the "houstyle" mixes sad

"Willing And Able"...check the video, no explaination needed!!!!

"Reflection"....the Tavis Smiley performance tops the album version.

"Why you Wanna Treat Me So Bad"...how he extended that jam is way cool on those Old shows!!

"Partyman" - Better Live!!

"Endorphinmachine"... I know this gets discussed a lot

There are MANY more, just not coming to mind... Sometimes it would be cool if sometimes Prince could CAPTURE that live feel in his recordings.
Ohh ohhoohhhhh....case in point...1+1+1=3 BETTER LIVE...why do u think he put it out so many times live..he knows it works better live..hehe

"Let's Work" segued into "Delerious"...pheww!!!

i know...
it's just so much more exciting live, isn't it??
i love watching him play and interact

plus, by the time he plays a song live
he's had time to rewrite the song many times
many times he comes off way more funkier
he's always adding new and interesting sounds
new rhythm guitar riffs, extra beats, more creative solos, etc.

ah yeah, now i see where you're coming from
i DO love those songs where Prince uses all kinds of studio tricks
those are the things he's not quite able to reproduce live
plus, his perfectionist side can really show off in the "control" room wink
he can paint his pictures more vividly through studio techniques, true

Joy in Repetition on It Ain't Over the ONA afterparty and Everlasting Now on ONA live are pretty damn hot IMO and I like the guitar interlude in the version of Never Take the Place of Your Man from SOTT. music
Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

I almost forgot Anotherloverholeinyohead! smile

live versions of this are so good they make the album version
sound pretty lackluster and weak
If you will, so will I

Still standing by "Purple rain - Rave un2 the year 2000"

Also "shhh" and "the love we make" sound amazing on the musicology tour!

Speaking of Musicology...that song sounds SO much better live
It's all about the extra energy that the album version lacks nod
If you will, so will I
