& the song is about ceasing the "tribal" divergences that lead 2 war & intolerance. U can disapprove one's way of life or cultural points of view, but still accept his/her right 2 live in the same country with the same rights as u. What Prince is basically saying is : we r all in the same boat, so let's stop seing what separates us & instead let's try 2 c what r our common interests.
