Yes I know he did this with Jill Jones et al but Something really unexpected for 2006 perhaps he could write/produce 12 songs to be sung by 12 of the current hottest "pop" stars so that the world gets to hear Prince music and also to maybe shake up what we expect of younger artists - they dont have to produce similar sounding fodder. Its similar to what Santana/Neptunes do but imagine if Prince had a go....

I would like to see him produce an album for Mariah Carey though...something that sounds kinda like Glitter.

Interesting idea, and would certainly draw attention. But on the theme of this thread I as thinking of original songs and music by Prince for young artists, for example someone like Jojo or Kelly Clarkson - people you wouldn't think of as having anything to do with Prince.

I think this is a funky idea, and the resulting album would be a gem, if

... the artists involved would really challenge Prince
... Prince would not just have his "usual" style in all songs
... a cool co-producer came on board
