Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Does Johnny Depp starring as Willy Wonka remind anyone else of Prince? All their promotional ads remind me of The Gold Experience era.
Prince would have made a perfect Willy Wonka…maybe in the sequel  |

Prince and Willie Wonka do have a lot in common:
- A fondness for the colour Purple... - They are eccentric fellows who spend most of their time hidden away in their factories (Paisley Park) preparing new goodies for us... - They are often mistaken by the public as being weird/queer... - They both dress rather flamboyantly and like to use a cane... - Their factory is filled with 'yes' men (the oompa-loompas and the infamous PPs at npgmc  )...
- They communicate in cryptic comments... - They are perfectionist control freaks... - They both went through a period of great success in their early years, followed by an introverted period in which they were rarely seen by the general public, and are now again back in the spotlight...
