1. She's always in my hair - my wife always hits me when i sing i to her lol
2. Raspberry Beret - like the song but it sounds a bit to mainstream, like it was made for the 80's pop croud. When I'm alone in my room.....

I say "rasberry beret" is one of Prince's least dated songs (and u know most of them have dated)
I prefer "rasberry beret". Just. "shes always in my hair has those snares that remind me of billy ocean.

Both are great songs
Shes Always in My Hair is unbelievable Rapsberry Beret is pure pop genius And neither is dated at all...there was nothing like them then and has been nothing like since 2 very fine recordings someone above says Raspberry Baret sounds so 80s...how is that,,,it sounds absolutely postively like nothing else that he did or anyone else was doing for that matter [Edited 6/10/05 18:11pm] Dance... Let me see you dance

SAIMH, would rank up there with one of my favs. But yeah, it would sound dated now.
Actually, giving it some more thought RB would sound more dated to me.

Rasberry Beret is so poppish (new word) it hurts. She's Always In My Hair has to win every time. Both are a little dated but RB's age shows with the intro.

She's Always in My Hair on both counts.
By the way - is it just me, or is the synth playing snippets of Sex Shooter in this song?

"Raspberry Berry"is pop.You either love it or you hate it.That is the definition of a true pop song.Think"Hit Me Baby One More Time"."She's Always In My Hair"is a great song. Not pop,but still a great song. The lyrics and the structure of the song haunt you, like "Closer"by Nine Inch Nails. larry luvlife

She's Always In My Hair is my favorite of the two.

I love She Is Always In My Hair more, but I love Raspberry Beret as well. Both are good, neither dated.
Pop can be good too, in fact amazingly so, and I think both of these prove it. I think pop is underrated because of so many sucky "artists" nowadays. Someone implied that SIAMH wouldn't be a pop song.... ..."I don't uderstand.." I admit, I have NO clear image of what "funk" is, but still....

I think you may have to look on Ebay now to find it.

Again, the extended version is the one to have. It's the b-side of the 12" Raspberry Beret, and Paisley Park (European 12").

SHE'S ALWAYS IN MY HAIR is without a doubt one of my favorite songs of all time!! The 12" version is headphone material....INCREDIBLE!!!!
I cried the first time I heard it...don't know why either...maybe cause it sounded so good... Raspberry Beret I could give a fuck less about that song...complete pop garbage!!! Thought the same way in 85...still feel the same way now.

She's Always In My Hair is easily the best of the two. This becomes apparent when you listen to them on the 45. Raspberry Beret is not without its merit, but its played out and a little too poppy for my taste. It's still a very good song though. But She's Always In My Hair is a brilliant song with a KILLER guitar line, great lyrics and that beat.
I remember reading somewhere that She's Always In My Hair is supposedly about Jill Jones. Is that correct?
