I'm sure P feels a little saddend by the whole MJ situation. They did sepnd some time hanging out in the early/mid 80's. It's funny that MJ spent most of his time and money to look like P.
(secretly, MJ is a HUGE fan!) Don't tell anyone.

From a concert in Las Vegas, 1999:
"You know what, y'all? Janet Jackson was at the concert last night - she was over on the side grooving, I saw the head bobbing. She didn't stick around though, I wanted to talk to her, ask her what's up with Sly and the Family Stone's music, her brother owns that. That's kind of different, ain't it? I don't mean nobody no harm, but it looks like the Family Stone's up here!" You know, I heard that as part of the catalogue that MJ owns, is the song 'Happy Birthday' (the traditional one) so everytime that song is sung on the media, he get's money for it! But it's just an urban myth - as with Paul McCartney holding the copyright or publishing rights - full lowdown here: http://www.snopes.com/mus...rthday.htm . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

[Edited 6/24/05 14:56pm] The happy birthday thing is not true. Happy birthday is in the public domain. No one gets $ for that song being played. Unless someone records it and puts it on an album or releases it. Then they only get money for that specific recording or arrangement. Well...I read that link...I guess I'm wrong.
