I agree with that one, but as we all know theres some big sista lovin that Prince has 4 Miss CK, so I think its only fitting~ It was nice 2 see them groove on the dance floor at a after party capping off a fantastic "Jam Of The Year " show. Much Love 4 CK....feelin her always~

I like Sinaed's version of "Nothing Compares 2 You" better than the Family but then P comes back and SCHOOLS everyone on the hits.

Nothing Compares 2 U sounds hauntingly simple in Sinead's version. Naturally, I'd prefer to see Prince do it that way, rather the way he usually does it. But I doubt that will ever happen.

well i thought that cyndi lauper's version of when u were mine and mariah's version of beautiful ones were better than there the respective prince versions, note though the covers were done alot later with better recording technology and a more modern sound

Yeah, we've only heard the live version from The Hits. It's good but I do think Sinead's version is better.

Her vocal talent is "simply marvellous!"

I think Stephanie Mills' version of "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore"(1983) is better than ANY other version of that song that I've heard (including Princes').It's certainly better than Alicia Keys' so-so rendition.

I've yet to hear a cover better than the original.

Buy Bob Beldon Does Prince and Listen to A Question of You. It, to me, is hands down better than prince's

SINEAD'S version of "Nothing" is better because of it's simplicity in its approach. She gives it all the song needs (or maybe I just don't care to listen to Prince's much). HEr stark vocals are quite haunting.

Obviously CKs' version of I FEEL 4 U rules .

Stephanie Mills HCUDCMA kicks ass too! maybe cuz i heard her studio and live versions way before I heard Prince's version.

I really hate when Prince's songs are covered...Once you here the original it's kind of hard to like another version. You always tend to compare...Ms. O'Connor gets 2 thumbs up and Chaka, well she can sing just about anything and I'll like it...Now Ms. Keys on the other hand should have "just said NO! Aside from Sinéad's version of "Nothing" and Chaka's version of "I Feel For You" most Prince covers don't do the song justice. But then there is Ani DiFranco's version of "When You Were Mine" which is excellent.

The only one I MIGHT agree with, is the Chaka Khan song. I personally haven't heard it enough, but Prince's version is a little fluffy.

I'm sorry in advance cuz I'm not hardly violent, but I think Ginuwine should be burned at the stake for what he did to When Doves Cry. Also I still only play the original I Feel For You cuz for some reason I hate when people cover Prince songs because they seem to lose sentimental value.

Patti LaBelle ripped another hole in "I Hear Ur Voice" sumthin' decent ... probably the ONLY Prince cover I dug.
