Performing with Beyonce was brilliant. Vanguard Jam - brilliant! Musicology was nice. One Night Alone Tour was the BEST he's ever done!
Just that Video... '3 Chains Of Gold'.... can't handle it! But the music on it was better than 90% of what's out there today. I'm over my purple low...thank you people! “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!”

Performing with Beyonce was brilliant. Prince complained all year about current artists not playing instruments right after he performed with one of those same artists. That was a total embarrassment. Also, Prince and other musicians need to be trying to drive her type of music out of style, not perform with her and boost her even more. omg where to start!? first the colonel sanders look during the controversy era....then skating on down to his pixie cut, then in the 90s plenty mishaps the salior hat with all the gold chains in the front ,the roller skates and swimsuit video(gangster glam video?),the ice skating outfits on emancipation(the emancipation jacket was his saving grace),and then the 1998 goth i dont get out much look.

The worst part of that Oprah interview, was Oprah on the stair climber, wearing practically every product from 1800newfunk all at once, trying to sing along to Emancipation.
Some other goofups; Both times he was on Arsenio promoting Diamonds & Pearls and the Symbol album, he screwed up during his performances. During Daddy Pop, there was a move where they were supposed to form a step for him with their hands and launch him in the air, well he got about 3 inches off the ground, lol. I forget which song it was, but during another performance he tried to light a critics review on fire with lighter fluid and a match, only it wouldn't catch fire. He lights like 3 matches and tosses them to the ground, before they cut to another camera, lol...

During one of the awards shows, circa Purple Rain, he performed Baby I'm A Star. He got to the microphone very late and right when he said "Hey!" He hit himself in the face with the mic. He recovered but I was embarrassed for him.

JellyBean said: I think that "LoveSexy" cover was pretty bad. It was one of those WTF? moments. But I still love ya, Uncle P.
Sorry. but Lovesexy, the Lovesexy tour, AND the Lovesexy cover are some of--if not the best creations Prince has ever put together. No offense, but you didn't get the point of Lovesexy if you're put off by the cover. It's pure brilliance, no holds barred Prince-- at his most revealing and open hearted-- on the album and tour--and the cover just summed it all up. Maybe if you weren't there when the album came out or maybe you missed the tour, but even to this day, Lovesexy is my all time favorite album, and the breath taking cover is just beautiful. BTW, his most embarrassing moment IMO:
Those silk smoking jackets he wore during the 2nd Arsenio performance and then on the Ryde Divine performance. I felt bad for his tailors, cuz you know he made them make those horrid outfits, and they were thinking "Are you sure...?" Close 2nd: The ending to Graffiti Bridge when the jeep runs over the poet chick Aura-on that god awful set- and they all instantly go into mourning. What was that all about? I mean NOTHING--not genecide, not Hitler, not Satan, not Tara Ried's tits--could be as bad as Graffiti Bridge!! I have to disagree! I had to be one one of the first to buy that record and listened to it almost exclusively for about a year. Now if you were talking about the movie-that WAS horrible. I felt terrible for him then cause I think I saw what he was going for-which wouldve been cool-but he missed it.

The abulm is actually ranked up there with his more plesurable albums to listen to, minus some of the songs he didn't sing.

until he stops trying to convert everyone to his religeon and views,i will be quite embarrassed by Prince. i never cared much for people with a God complex,Prince being no exception. people like that creep me out. i just wanna hear some loud funk-n-roll,don't need no life advise from a dude who has been treated like "royalty" since he was 16.know what i mean? ----- I don'think P has said anything about being a JW since right before Rave came out later when he previewed the RC. I think he realizes that it puts people off so he stopped talking about it. I think people like yourself are more worried about the JW religion than P and it tiresome. P has always had religious themes in his music going back to Controversy. If people did not run screaming from the room doing the Lord's Prayer in Controvery I doubt if it is going to be a problem now. . "royalty" since he was 16" That is exactly why he has a God complex (LOL)

[Edited 6/23/05 3:12am] ----- It is a good thing P does not listen his fans. Performing with Beyonce was great PR and going on Oprah showed that P can act normal when he wants to. He has got to get out and promote his music just like everybody else.

Jerky said: Just watched '3 Chains Of Gold' video. Oh my Good Lord! This has to be the lowest point in Prince's career!
If I didn't know all the music this video would put me off Prince for life. It makes 'Graffiti Bridge' look like art. All this rubbish about Egypt and Mayte and the worst storyline/acting created by an ego that is out of control. The worst thing I have ever seen. I am at a Purple low point. Help! Remind me of the good things! C'mon now, 3 Chains O' Gold wasn't that bad. You have to at least enjoy seeing Prince rollerskating around in his silk boxers and matching robe with those knee pads on... classic. SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. Man, it's sooooo bad. I hate the bad Paisley Park acting. I bought this 12 years ago and never really watched it again. It is so up it's own self it's scary. I think Prince would cringe watching it now. all that Egypt/Soul Mate/Name change stuff..... he was lost. [Edited 6/22/05 9:28am] This produced some of his greatest music. That album kicked ass true. is one of the best albums ever! "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent.
