What does your signifigant other think of your Prince obsession?

My boyfriend is like rolleyes He can't stand Prince. He is occasionaly wowed by a very complicated song that Prince wrote that I play for him but he is not liking the "80s party time" sound which Prince is famous for. biggrin

My fiancee STILL doesn't get it ... even after I took her to a 'One Nite Alone' show. I was SURE she couldn't see a gig without being converted but she was like .. 'Yeah, it was OK'. Some people are beyond hope smile

My hubby knew it was a package deal when he proposed so he's cool with it. I'd have never said yes, otherwise! We even went together to see him exactly one year ago today, and I think he enjoyed it more than I did, if that's even humanly possible. lol

Besides, he knows if he says anything I don't like about Prince, I've always got his obsession with Whitney Houston to 'dis, and I've got way more ammunition! wink

He hates everyting about Prince (the music, the movies, the JW dogma etc...). I gave up trying 2 convert him years ago.
Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

My gf loves him, so there is no problem.

Anyone who can recognise musical talent, even if they don't like the music, respects Prince.

Most of my friends are like that thankfully, so they won't listen to it, but when Prince pulls off some amazing thing they like it. They're cool with my 9-year obsession.

My hubby didn't understand the obsession until I took him to the Musicology show - and then he realized the errors of his ways and converted to a Prince-a-holic. headbang worship worship

She's cool with it because I tend to play songs that I know she likes when we go somewhere in my car.

He's fine with it. . .he even allowed a Prince room in the house [the Prince potty]

He just gets a little ticked when I spend too much money on the obsession. . .
