Help with Paper Okay, I have to write a paper about someone famous and Nietzsche having a conversation. I thought it would be cool to do this with Prince, but am having a hard time finding anything out about any of his views. I would use his music lyrics, but can't do it, not allowed. So any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I will mostly be using Nietzsche’s Will to Power and the Overman philosophies.

Sounds like the makings of a fun, yet impossible to resolve dialogue!
Nietzsche on Christianity: A certain sense of cruelty towards oneself and others is Christian; hatred of those who think differently; the will to persecute. Hatred of mind, of pride, courage, freedom, libertinage of mind, is Christian; hatred of the sense, of the joy of the senses, of joy in general is Christian.
I think it should end with old Friedrich being beaten to death with a rolled-up 'Watchtower'.

I gotta ask, why can't you use his lyrics? I'd think someone's poetry/lyrics would be a major insight into their ideas. Check out the thread that FABPolska provided above, some good stuff there. Also, check out the Tavis Smiley interview from last February (transcript and clip available here): http://www.pbs.org/kcet/t...0219.html# Example: Prince: First of all, I think just the word "political" and "politics" and all that is just semantics. You know, an equal share of economic wherewithal is desirable by all. We all just want to take care of our families, and do it to the best of our abilities, and see the world. People want to travel and things like that. A lot of people that I know haven't even been out of the United States. So I consider myself more of a spiritual person than I do political. I'm more concerned with the truth. More concerned with why people won't adhere to it, and why they see themselves as us against them. I used to think that we were the ones that came up with that, but see, we didn't start a lot of these wars, and we certainly don't want to go to them, but... "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

My professor said lyrics aren't always written by the artist, but I mentioned the fact that the artist I had in mind had. So I am waiting for his response. (fingers crossed)
