Swami to cause controversy this Wednesday! British-Asian rap/metal/bhangra band Swami are set to cause controversy this Wednesday (13th) on BBC Radio 1, when their live BBC Maida Vale session is played on Bobby Friction & Nihal's show. The explosive band performed 3 of their own songs in the session (including the smash-hit "DesiRock") and a cover of the Prince song "Controversy", which was played for the first time at Swami's headlining set in the Roots Tent at this year's Glastonbury Festival. Producer & guitarist in the band, Diamond Duggal will also be interviewed on the show. Diamond is one of the most famous asian producers in the world, having produced multi-million sellers for artists such as Apache Indian, Pras (Fugees), and the 20-million selling album "Up!" (blue version) for Shania Twain. The show will also coincide with the launch of the all-new Swami website - www.swamimusic.com - which will feature an exclusive MP3 download of "Controversy" by the end of the week. Bobby Friction & Nihal's show is on every Wednesday on BBC Radio 1 from 9PM-11PM. To visit their showpage, click here. |
