I have really been getting into this song latley. I don't know maybe it is a summer thing! Emancipation is so underrated.

as for Emancipation, I recently took my favorite songs from
3 cds and put them on 1 cd. I love it!!

I used to love that song, it would have been one of my favorite summer jams, but I just can't listen to it anymore because of the ultrasound. I've tried, it just brings tears to my eyes, and I'm not a weepy person.

Since Prince has been into taking stuff out of his original songs lately, maybe he'll do the same to that one, for my sake at least, if nothing else.

Sex in the Summer is a great song. It's the only song on Disc II that I like.

I like listening 2 this song coupled with Head

That disk is listenable out of the 3.. geez he can come up with some serious rubbish..

Yes. Its a real nice pop song, that should have gotten more attention...One of the few tracks on that record that could have been a "hit". Imagine a great video with Prince outside in the real world, in the sun, hanging out with the band etc...

The heartbeat thing is a bit of a downer. It was intended to be life affirming but instead reminds you how fragile it all is.

I pretty much only listen to disc two of "Emancipation."

Sex in the Summer is one of my all-time favorites. A perfect "driving in your car with the top down" kind of groove.

If anybody wants an example of a pure genious... this song should solidify. Who else would come up with an idea of taking a babies ultrasound and putting instruments around it to form a song. How awesome is that. It's too bad this song will never get the credit it is due but gives a prime example of what type of work comes from a pure genious.

I happened to like most of the stuff on these CD's. I consider the Emancipation cd a purging process for Prince. When someone goes through something, somtimes they need to let it all out, whether it is good or bad, it needs to come out. This is the reason why Emancipation was made. I think he knew going in, that most people would be like, "God, it's too long, or the material sounds dated.Now, while some of it does indeed song dated, he felt the need to say it. I respect him for that.

I've never understood the whole DATED thing a good song is a good song..
and "Sex In The Summer" is a nice funky breezy little jam that has a great
hook
