When I was referring to Sheila, Lisa, and Wendy...I was talking about being street as having a certain edge about you, which she does not have. Or a certain boldness. I was more so referring to Prince in the sense that he got them to do this. But I know what you mean.

And on the no talentn tip, I pretty much agree. But he is still a dude, and if she threw it up, I'm sure he would do what most of us would. Perhaps not now, but I don't think he'd ever pursue her.

Chris Columbus directing it actually looks to be a good thing. The studio wanted to hire movie people, but when Chris got on board, he insisted on the original cast (which is a WISE choice). He IS a talented director as seen from the Harry Potter movies, but I too was skeptical until I learned of his real passion for the show. he is sort of a "RENTHead" (thats what they used to call us).

From the couple aquaintinces i have that are associated with the show, it is looking to be extremely well adapted, yet original (not everything goes exactly as it does in the show, whereas Phantom of the Opera almost looks like it was shot completely in the stage performance). But the best elements are faithfully in tact.

Or so I hope and it looks like...

watch the trailer at quicktime.com when i saw it i wasn't sure at first but by the end of the preview i was very optimistic.

The cast includes:
Anthony Rapp (Adventures in Babysitting, a lot of theatre)
Adam Pascal (a lot of theatre and he was also in SLC punk)
Rosario Dawson
Idina Menzel (who is just plain awesome, and her album is great if you can find it)
Taye Diggs (he helped stella get her groove back. also, Taye and Idina are married)
Tracie Thoms (?)
Jessie L Martin (Law and Order)
Wilson Heredia

Everyone above was in the original RENT cast except for Tracie and Rosario.
