Bagleys Warehouse Aftershow 1993

Any1 here go to the Bagleys Warehouse 'Welcome 2 the Dawn' afterparty in Sept 1993?

Did u have a pleasant experience? I was 1 of the fortunate people who got to see him play (along with Tony M, doh!) and had a memorable, good experience smile. But I know many people thought it was a fiasco mad.

I'd be interested to hear some stories.

I was there.

I had a great time, I think.

I do remember that it was way overcrowded though.

I was there too, it was packed, hot and I had to wait around 4 hours for the man to come on.

Great gig though - I was quite near the front so it was the first time I'd seen Prince up close. Even got the back of my head in the sacrifce of victor video. lol

wow , what a great night that was, wasn't it a real pain in the ass waiting for so long. Do you remember him throwing down the yellow cloud right at the end, boy was he pissed. I was right at the front and the corner of my head made it onto the video!!.

Well I know there was supposed to be sand all over place to give it a egyptian desert type feel but it rained and washed all the sand away leaving a bit of a gooey mess.

There was also an incident were security were stopping people from leaving so someone called the police on their mobile phone.

I know that Prince was apparently horrified when he came onstage and saw a rowdy crowd with glass bottles of beer. I think the whole band were a bit confused as to why we were all annoyed as they had no idea of the conditions we were waiting in. If u remember Sonny came on to many boos and slow hand claps and said "Wassup damn it!"

But I have to say I didn't realised Prince was pissed off?! I thought he threw his guitar down in rock and roll styley!

If any1 can shed some light on this I would love to hear it. I know some people got 2 sit on the side of the stage and could see everything.

I was there... right at the back, standing on the beer soaked, broken glass scattered floor, unable to see anything..

Remember the comment 'Peace to the Blondes' at the beginning (think its recorded on the video of the show too).. a couple of young ladies had been to all the arena shows (well, they there at all the ones I attended anyway), and must have caught his eye..!

As we arrived fairly late, just headed for the room where the show was, didnt manage to see any of the 'themed' rooms..

Thought it was pretty shit, although I was excited by the performances of Come, Endorphinmachine and Peach. That really rocked.
