What a boring year 4 me (maybe 4 u too?)

No new Album!
No WB Reissues !
No new Tour!


I just want 2 share my feelings(or complaints) as a Fan....that's it!

edit: actually, i'm kinda surprised that Prince didn't quickly build on the momentum he had going for him throughout 2004.

He was making a lot of public appearances so maybe he wasn't wanting everyone to get bored of him.

It will be interesting to see how succesful he will be this year without a greatest hits tour behind him.

The thing that scares me is that, with the short attention span of today's public, he could already be an after-thought. "Oh Prince was SO last year." If Prince did want to continue the hot streak, he should have spent more time getting that DVD and/or Live Album from last year out and less time doing pointless damn award show appearances earlier in the year. Hold off on the new album but keep the flavor fresh in people's minds. He could have released a single off the live album, maybe one of the acoustic numbers, and maybe he would have even gotten some radio play. Releasing something live now instead of earlier this year probably will not have the same success and will be less of a catipult to the new stuff.

Prince, it seems, is trying to be all mysterious now, like he used to do between projects. Dropping little hints here and there (3121---oooh, numbers!), that are falling on deaf ears. Besides us, no one cares. The public these days has much more of a "pee or get off the pot" mentality. The attention span in the 00's is exactly 15 seconds and Prince has missed an opportunity in my estimation.

Now if he is just planning for his next release to be something smaller, more intimate, more for the hardcore, than all of this is irrelevant. But if Prince wanted to continue to be "hot", I think he missed his chance.

U know Prince doesnt come out with a good album back to back..give it time!!!!

More like 2003. Now THAT was a boring year. At least Prince showed up on TV a few times this year on the award shows.

besides some people say Prince should slow down his album production
and focus more on quality rather than quantity.
