Were any original Gold Experience CD released? I know we've discussed the track list but i wondered if any original pressings had leeked out of the Park.
In 1995 I saw the 'Sunday Show' interview with the NPG and Toro Toro was waving a copy of the Gold Expereince about. It had a metalic gold cover, not like the release version. PLUS when the CD did come out i read reviews in VOX and Q that listed 'Days Of Wild' as being present on the CD and that the cover was 'shiny and gold' with a gold Angel on the inside fold out. but when i bought it it wasn't there??? Does anyone have one of these CD's? i be there worth a bit NOW! $$$£££

Prince originally wanted to release 'The Gold Album'(as it was called back then) in 1994.He presented it to Warners in spring 1994,along with the 'Come' album. He wanted to release the two albums a few weeks apart ("Come" by Prince,"The Gold Album" by The Symbol),but Warners said no.In the Vibe cover story from this period, the writer had the opportunity to listen to both albums. He mentioned songs like "Ripopgodazippa" and "Days Of Wild".So,yes,it's obvious that Prince indeed made copies of the original 1994 version of this album. If anybody has one, they have a real collector's item.

He also gave a copy 2 David Letterman. It had the same look that Endorphin78 stated. If this was really pressed...It'd b 1 of the rarest collector items!! "Everybody's looking 4 the ladder, everybody wants salvation of the soul. The steps u take r no easy road. But the reward is great 4 those who want 2 go.."

Yes, they do exist.
No one is really sure how many were made, but they were only given to a few of Prince's friends & associates. The CD artwork was printed on metallic paper, and had a foil-blocked symbol as well. The CD's themselves were in-house 'test pressings' (they didn't have the finished graphics printed on them, just regular in-house graphics). The only difference musically between this and the released version is the inclusion of an extra 'NPG Operator' segue and 'Days Of Wild' after We March.
