chaos and disorder Why does everyone hate this cd? I like it, not in my top 5 or anything but far far from his worst.zannalee, i rock therefore i am, dinner with delores, chaos and disorder, i like it there....all very good songs. Some people are calling TRC and the truth clasic p albums and imo they are both far worse the C&D. When I'm alone in my room.....

Same. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

It still gets fairly frequent play by me. "..Just close your eyes and count to 10...and when U open 'em I'll B standing naked with nuthin' but a SMILE on.."

I love the production on this CD and still listen to it quite often.
A couple of duff moments, however: Zannalee is just terrible - processed middle-aged blues-rock. 'I Rock...' is a decent enough song totally ruined by the rapping - just when you thought there was no-one worse than Tony M!

Sorry, but somehow I think, that someone who really like this "album" can´t care for or really understand the total rest of P´s catologue. (But I try to understand that this only a matter of taste - bad taste )

wrong-o! though if you were to flip your comment over, i'd feel pretty close. i don't know how anyone can have any kind of appreciation of prince's work in the 90s without listening to C&D within the context of what he was doing at the time; and based on that appreciation, i can't understand how someone wouldn't enjoy it, even if certain songs on the album might bug.

I take the three discs that are Crystal Ball
add Chaos & Disorder plus The Vault:Old Friends for Sale & theres my 5 cds from Prince's Vault. Stick them in the cd player & hit RANDOM and I'm in heaven. Thats what C&D is to me - the 4th disc from Crystal Ball.

Good LP..Hard to believe it's almost 10 years old. "I Like It There" used to get played a lot on this alternative rock radio station by me. It was cool hearing Prince sandwiched between Nirvana, The Cure, and STP.

"Make some noise if U hear me
NPG rocks the city Rugged and raw, lift up your bra Show me your titties." That single verse alone completely DESTROYS the perfect flow that C & D could have had. Never mind "Right the Wrong," which comes dangerously close to doing the same thing. That single verse alone is what leads me to press FF> on my player every single time. And because of that, I can't really enjoy the album as a whole. It's got some incredible tracks on it, though.

BigBootyLover said: but can any1 tell me ,,is micheal playin an electronic kit ??? There are programmed loops on two of the dance tracks, the rest is definitely an acoustic kit. And not even terribly well-miked one for that matter. Means you must like the dirty sound yourself. [Edited 6/17/05 2:53am]

ye homie i love it ,,especially zannalee ,,it sounds like hes hitting a china of sum sort on the main snare beats thru the chorus n solo ..its hard hitting ,,bein a drummer myself i find this really emphasises the snare hits ,,almost like the clap pad jb uses on the live @ the alladin dvd
gritty awesum ,,n diffrent ... u mention drum loops for the dance trax ,,just jog my memory for a secondd ,,ure referring to "i rock therfore i am ,,yeah? and whats the other ?? [Edited 6/17/05 3:01am]

I love this album.....it's all anger and raw energetic guitar!! If the gold experience was the 'jedi' album.....chaos and disorder would be the 'sith'!! It was a welcome break from the norm, and I would rather listen to this than 'new power soul' or'one nite alone' any day of the week!! Sometimes it is good to feel like an artist is challenging their audience with a change in direction

Would people have liked C&D better if it had been titled differently?
maybe... "The Vault Vol.1 : Chaos And Disorder" It's a collection of tracks never originally intended for release to the general public (at least not in the format it was released). It should be viewed in the same light as 'Crystal Ball' & 'The Vault...Old Firends 4 Sale'.
