You see, some people like to believe a song is "theirs," and by liking that particular song they are then different from everyone else. when a song becomes a hit and everyone likes it that is no longer possible. so the listener then degrades that song and chooses another one to identify with themselves. the worse the song the better, as they then can pretend to have more disriminatory tastes, and those of you who don't like it aren't as musically refined and thus like standard pop songs. the implication is that you have no taste, when in reality it is just that the accuser is desperate to create a sense of individuality through music.
