I truly don't believe Prince has EVER hated Michael. I think Prince has always respected Michael as an artist and an entertainer. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

hate is a really strong word don'tcha think? they are pretty strict about no MJ bashing on NPGMC so...I don't think he hates him...just prolly thinks he's a freak like most people do. "not a fan"  yeah...ok | |

right when i heard that line from Life O the Party I was thinking Michael Jackson. That sounds like Prince is making fun of his nosejobs. Like he can sing high notes without a nosejob but Michael cant? I think it is very well aimed at Mj, but then again just my opinion | |

Look for this book: Moguls and madmen: the pursuit of power in popular music by Jory Farr. Look in the index under "Prince" and then find the things that he has told rec execs about Michael Jackson. Then you'll know Prince's view of the guy.
In my opinion, there are very few musicians who can garner Prince's respect; deservedly so. And many of those musicians are pushing up daisies or soon will be. [Edited 6/15/05 17:18pm] | |

From the stories i've read and whispers here and there in the music biz circle of friends that i know and discussed this with they say that
Prince and MJ definitely respects each others talent but they both r competitive and have a similar friendly rivalry like Charles Barkely and Micheal Jordan does. U,ME,WE!....2FUNKY! | |

I must admit, I have not yet read "Moguls and Madmen: The Pursuit of Power in Popular Music," which is probably quite interesting. It's approximately 12 minutes and 30 seconds into the video (the entire video is about 19 minutes in length). Please be aware that the video will be locked up on June 27.
