Rappers "borrowed" from Prince Seems to me a lot of musicians, rappers/hiphop, have borrowed from Prince-and in turn, Prince has borrowed-in style. Listen to We do this on ONA-Ludachris!, Listen to Scarlet Pussy on Hits/Bsides-SnoopDog!
In turn, it's fun to hear how Prince can morph-he couldn't sound more like John Lennon in Another Lonely Christmas (although probably one of his weakest songs), and he sounds exactly like Elvis in Delerious. And as for James Brown! Love the way he can play around. | |
