I was just listening to few of my favourite songs and was thinking of the scenes and stories I always do, and suddenly I started to wonder, are there Prince fanfics anywhere? I mean, sure it's not the most sophisticated form of admiral, but usually where there are fans, there are stories.

So am I only one who makes Purple Fairytales? Who has the need to pair him up with their favourite Prince-girl, or someone completely different? There is enough mysteries, mythology, and delicious characters for sure....

LOL, I was thinking something more elaborate and maybe not even as sex-oriented, as fanfics usually come in many types... Not that I don't appreciate her efforts.

The other day I went looking for Bowie fics, btw. Found a boatload of really bad Labyrinth fic, but rare few slash. Wonder why?

Thing with Bowie is, there's so many potential pairings throughout his career, and IMO he's majorly slashable so I was surprised I couldn't find more than 2 or 3.

Prince is a tougher one though. Yeah, he's been assoicated with a lot of men, but very few of them would make sense to slash him with.


BTW -ever read any Batman-Joker? It sounds so very very wrong, but it works.

I'm actually really feeling like writing something stupid, since it would be the first Prince fanfic.... So enjoy, but beware, this is a bit of a MarySue!

"The Vault"

Patrick sipped his coffee nervously. He loved his job as one of Hollands most popular radio voices, but now he was genuinely scared of the studio. In five minutes he would be interviewing Prince, his long-time favourite musician. Patrick wanted desperately to calm down and be cool, but his hands were trembling so bad he had to set the cup down. Three minutes. "I can do this", he though, after all, he is just a human being, right?

"Hello everyone, this is 108.4 LIVE from Amsterdam, and my name is Patrick. In the studio with me I have one of the baddest people in rock, pop AND funk. Welcome, Prince!"
"Thank you" said Prince, smiling slightly, but seeming a bit aloof.
"I have so much to ask from you, and I'll start with the old stuff, ok?
"Go ahead"
"Well, did you really think that Graffitti Bridge for example would be a big hit in the movie theatres? Did you think Under The Cherry Moon would get Oscars and be called a classic?"
"No, to both of those. I didn't care about the viewings, I just wanted to make them, express myself, the way I want to express myself in my music, with no limits or boundaries. I don't like being restricted."
Patrick looked at him and thought "Too Right..." He cleared his throat. "Now, don't kill me, but about that name-change...." Prince rolled his eyes and sighed.

.....

"Welcome back, that was Cinnamon Girl, and we are talking to Prince himself right now. Prince, as a longtime amirer of your music and creativity, I have to ask you, when are you going to open the vault, and what are you going to do with all those songs?"
"I've been asked that before, and I have always said I'll just give them away." "Yes but what do you mean by that?"
Prince looked straight into Patricks eyes "What do you think I mean?"
Beep! The red light flased, there was a caller on the line. Patrick was still a bit confused, but let it trough. "108.4 FM, What's up?"


"Did I get trough? Is this Patrick? Is Prince there?" asked a female voice with a strange accent, a bit high and out of breath. "Yes, this is Prince, who are you?" asked Prince, calmly but friendly.
"Oh! Prince! Hi, um, nice to hear your voice. I'm Sirah, and I have a question for you, if you don't mind.."
Prince smiled and said "I don't mind. Go right ahead."
"Well, could I have it? The vault, I mean? I'd really like to have it."
Patrick laughed, Prince laughed and then Patrick stopped laughing as Prince chuckled and said "Sure, I'll give it to you. But just for you. I was wondering how long it would take until someone asked. Hang on and give me your addres at the end of the show." Patrick stared at Prince. Was the guy royally mindfucking a fan? Was he going to send her a copy of an album? What was he talking about?

Connor clicked the topic. It was one of the newbies again, and he was irked. He had spilled his Starbucks latte on his trousers on the way to work (Connor hated subways, and especially people who tried to push in before people got out) and the guy in the next cubicle had bragged that he'd gotten a date with the office beauty. Prince.org was his salvation on days like this, but he had no patience for newbies so early in the morning. "Please, little noob, go to the top of the "Prince, music and more" page, and click the sticky that is labelled A Helpful FAQ For Newbies. You'll find all about The Vault and Sirah there...."

Mariah looked at the sticky thread. It was long. Too long. Sheesh, it would take ages to find the interesting part. Well, she had time, as long as the teacher stayed away from the computer class. She stopped scrolling to read about Prince's alter agos, but didn't bother to read more than one post about that. Finally. Here it is. "Who is Sirah and what does she have to do with Prince or the Vault?" Mariah straightened her posture, streched her legs and started to read.

"Sirah is an orger from Scandinavia. She called in during a radio interview in Amsterdam and asked Prince if she could have the Vault. We don't know why, but Prince agreed to copy and send her all the songs he has there. Apparently he did. Some people who claim to know Sirah have confirmed this, but she hasn't herself been heard. she has completely vanished. The account is still valid, and is in use, but Sirah only lurks now. No new posts or answers at all after the radio interview.
There are many people here who claim to know her, but she has only two people on her friends list. So don't believe everyone. There is much speculation as to WHY did Prince agree to copy The Vault to her, but unless you get a word from the Man himslef, it's not very useful."

Mariah read in disbelieve. Just gave the Vault as she would copy a CD for her sister? All the unreleased songs throughout his career? So wrong. So amazing. She leaned back and sighed, then noticed her teacher coming into the room, and clicked on her project to cover the window she planned to continue reading. There were so many questions she had though, maybe it would be easier if she just made a new topic instead of reading that long one....

Seriously though, I got this idea from an interview where the interviewer asks him "What are you saving it for, what are you going to do with it?" He grins and sas "I'll give it away".

He continues to tell there are some very sexy songs and old Revolution tracks. It just got stuck in my head and I laughed at the thought of how would this place react if someone got them all, an then decided I'd be the pefect recipient....
