Prince in New E.W Magazine! Just got our issue of the EW magazine with Tom Cruise on the cover.
There is a very interesting picture of Prince inside.. A photographer took some pictures of Celebs (Usher, Eminem, etc) very close up and with no smiles on their faces. Kinda different. I think "P" looks "sad"..... Almost like he just left a funeral or something.. Guy said he was VERY shy..... 
But we all know that..... I thought Eminem Looked bad..... I normally think he is kinda cute.. but that close up picture did him NO justice... Check it out!  | |

Anyone can seemingly look sad if photographed at a certain moment, so it doesn't mean anything.
Of course, that won't stop the wave of "OMG PRINCE IS DEPRESSED! DID THAT BITCH MANI CHEAT ON HIM?!" type theories that are gonna come. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I don't think he looked sad at all. I definitely think he looked like he did NOT want to be photographed so up close and personal like that.
It's a wonderful pic, BTW. I'll scan it and have it up in a few minutes. |

wow...it really looks like he was very depressed
On the other hand, it was very interesting to see him more ´human´, with less make up and expression marks. He is looking even more like a jazz master of the past. real cool to see him this way. | |

And? Nobody said it was new. It was a look at some candid very up close photos that one of EW's contributing photographers had on hand. That would be why they chose to run the photographers comments under each picture, you know, sort of kinda like indicating that it was, you know...um...an old photo. |

Not the greatest picture, but he is deffo looking his age, this makes me wonder how much make-up he actually puts on!!!?!?!

That's all well and good, but you know I do alot of things that I really do NOT want to do either. I said he "looked like he did NOT want to be photographed so up close and personal like that," which is stated exactly the way I wanted it to be stated. Just because he looks that way doesn't mean he is that way. I also mentioned in my earlier post that he was probably tired of doing all the press and photo shoots, as well, which is really how it looks in this picture. Everyone has their own perceptions. Only Prince himself knows how he felt when that pic was taken. Right? |

Anyone can look sad and tired if caught mid-blink - when the eyelids are half-way up. Besides, this photo is out of context, if the close-ups of the other celebrities is similar, it would make more sense as a series of photos - perhaps you should post a few of the others?
Saying that, I would have thought Prince would have final say on all photos released from a photo shoot, so he must have okayed this one? Kudos to the photographer for getting a more naturalistic picture of Prince. People say he is not wearing so much make-up, but I would dispute that, it is the same amount of make-up as on the full-body shots from this shoot, but nobody pointed out then that he didn't have make-up on - you can see some make-up around the eyes and on the cheeks. Prince usually has a habit in close-ups of tilting his head down while looking up slightly - sounds like that was what he was trying to get the photographer to shoot, but the photographer held his ground and got the shot he wanted. | |
