Saying that, I would have thought Prince would have final say on all photos released from a photo shoot, so he must have okayed this one? Kudos to the photographer for getting a more naturalistic picture of Prince. People say he is not wearing so much make-up, but I would dispute that, it is the same amount of make-up as on the full-body shots from this shoot, but nobody pointed out then that he didn't have make-up on - you can see some make-up around the eyes and on the cheeks. Prince usually has a habit in close-ups of tilting his head down while looking up slightly - sounds like that was what he was trying to get the photographer to shoot, but the photographer held his ground and got the shot he wanted. I agree with you and I kinda like the fact that he looks more his age too. Also, it seems whoever did his makeup did not blend it properly. Looks like a rush job so maybe he is annoyed about the whole thing. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. | |

Prince doesn't look 47 years old in this pic, he has no crowsfeet wrinkles...maybe the area in which he shaves looks a little rough, otherwise...he's just as handsome as ever.

Everyone knows that Prince wears way more make-up much more often and in more everyday situations than most any other male star... with the exception of Michael Jackson (which is 2x more extreme + even crazier with the plastic surgery mess). It is a very shocking picture to me. It really shook me into reality. I couldn't believe what I saw. He looks like a different person. I would love to know how it is he came to let this picture be taken for a book, no less. It's hard to believe that he would allow it. Not the Prettyman. I agree with whoever said that all these years of getting so little sleep have probably caught up with him. It's amazing how, out of all of the pictures we've scrutinized, not one has even come close to this. It shows how effective he is at having his make-up done. All of the close-up on-stage photos of Prince look immaculate. Oh well. We finally see that he is not so invincible that he can cheat time.  Come here, babe.. yeah... | |

That's true! there's only a certain amount of air brushing you can do to a close up and this pic was probably too close up for them to make it look decent like the other pics he's taken recently- so I do admit it isn't his best I just didn't want people to compare this picture to a picture from 'Purple Rain'- I truly hope that OPINION being in all caps wasn't a sarcastic reference to the fact that I didn't think you were entitled because I'm fully aware that ALL of these threads are exactly that - completely other peoples OPINIONS. | |

I like this pic because it looks so natural and not retouched. You can see his little "naps" at the hairline, lines in forehead, bushy eyebrows, stubbly beard area, chapped lips, etc.
No makeup at all probably would have been better than the uneven application of the foundation and eyeliner. Looking at it just makes you wanna tuck him in bed with some hot chocolate and just pat him on the head. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. | |
