The Search for the Most Obnoxious Prince Song!

We all have a favourite, we all have a least favourite, but I ask you...

Which Prince song is the most obnoxious?

I'm not just talking about the songs you don't like - I'm talking about the one single song that, when it comes on, makes you wanna pull your speakers out the box and throw 'em out the window! Can we crown one song as the most obnoxious ever?

My vote: We Gets Up.
PRINCE: the only man who could wear high heels and makeup and STILL steal your woman!

I really don't enjoy Da, da, da and Condition of the Heart
but not because they are "obnoxious"

I don't think there is any song by Prince that would make me
destroy my precious speakers neutral
If you will, so will I

Hmmmmm.. my vote is for "right the wrong"! hammer

The completely flippant melody doesn't fit with the mature lyrics at all.
To me it really comes across as obnoxious.

RIGHT THE WRONG (from C&D)
-----
An Indian woman buried her grampa in the Black Hills
When she was young he used to tell her
That these hills belonged to her still
And even though injustice took them hills away
"One day we'll get them back," he said
"And the sun's gonna shine that day"
"When we say, right the wrong"

Before she laid him down to rest
She heard his voice in the wilderness
Sayin "I got six feet of it back"
"And now we can right the wrong"

Right the wrong
Hear the song
Before long U won't hear nothin' but the crackle of flames
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Would u rather die knowing that u did or keep living in shame

Did you hear the one about the boy just 17
Three years hard time for stealing ice cream
First offence and all his dreams are gone
How long before they right the wrong?

Right the wrong
Hear the song
Before long U won't hear nothin' but the crackle of flames
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Would u rather die knowing that u did or keep living in shame

Right the wrong

2, 3, uh

1, 2, 1-2, come on
(Right the wrong baby)

Far be it from me to say
It seem like we could stop the flow of snow in the sky today
But I guess the weather man he likes the rain
Ain't that insane
Now sing

Right the wrong
Hear the song
Before long U won't hear nothin' but the crackle of flames
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Would u rather die knowing that u did or keep living in shame?

(Come on, come on, come on)
Did you hear me baby?
Right the wrong
I'm 6 feet in the grave
I'm 6 feet in the grave
(right right, right right)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
Right the wrong (right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
Right the wrong (right the wrong right the wrong)

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust (right the wrong right the wrong)
This young man with a talented soul (right the wrong right the wrong)
Died when he wanted 2. (right the wrong right the wrong)
The [life/light]that lives (right the wrong right the wrong)
So he shall not be pitied
Nor shall the guity be forgiven
Until they find it in their hearts to
Right the wrong
"All of me eye give 2 thee down at your feet ...
The reassurance in your rhythm speaks 2 me."

--------------------------------------------------------

"I wanna hold U, wrap U up in lace.
And I wanna kiss U, kiss U all over your face."

Animal Kingdom - If I wanna eat meet I will

Right The Wrong - no no no!

Annie Christian - Dunno why but it makes me feel sick

Life Can Be Son Nice - see same reaction as above

The Vault - with the exception of Extraordinary

And any song that even suggests that Prince has had a hard life or in anyway can relate to slavery or the struggle of everyday balck people against racism...that guy has lived a life more comfortable and white that the Milky Bar kid. He's like those upper-class twats that go around working class bars to see what 'the other side' live like

Whoa there man! Are you completely ignorant to the struggles of the black community in America? How it was nigh on impossible for a young, black man, (particularly rock-guitarist in predominantly white Minneapolis) to even be given an opportunity, let alone to achieve the kind of things Prince has done. Clearly, you are!

Prince may have the good life now (in fiscal terms - despite his money, there has still been tragedy in his life, as with anyone), but he worked for it and from a difficult, not priveleged, background. Just looks like you have a rather large chip on your shoulder.....

Anyways, Grafitti Bridge makes me come close to trashing my stereo, but not quite smile

i gotta sorta agree to an extent with purpledoveuk...prince seemed to come from a middle-class upbringing....he chose not to live at home, correct? because of family issues? and the one family who took him in and cared for him, he ended up screwing over their son....

right out the bat the man recieved a recording contract.....hence him coming off as a spoiled brat..even up to today....

I think My Name Is Prince is pretty cool.

I mean, behind it's desperate desire to hit hard, it is a pretty fun track.

It is an obvious attempt at the self-reverential hyperbole of rap, but it comes off so much better.

Maybe I just like it for it's tackiness. lol

PEACH. I can't stand that song. I think the line about bouncin' titties is especially obnoxious.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
