Isty he was solo then he has the revolution then solo? And then NPG Right?

What albums were solo which were with bands?

I'm confused was SOTT with the revolution

Was Musicology with the NPG?

Section 4.1 of the FAQ mostly tells you:

The crediting to the albums mostly reflects what went on at the recording sessions. Prince usually credits band member contributions on liner notes for individual songs. However, the moniker used is sometimes misleading. It's obvious, for example that whilst 'One Nite Alone ... Live!' is solely credited to Prince, he is performing with The NPG. Whilst credited to 'New Power Generation', many people consider 'Newpower Soul' to be a 'Prince' album.

Snap

Since 1979 Prince has pretty much always had a band, but on most albums (even those where he gives the band credit) he has performed most of those songs solo. Maybe some kind soul will fill us in with the details...
