Why is Mani a stalker? On another thread, at least several orgers referred to Prince marrying his "stalker".
Can someone who knows the history of this woman please give me a brief summary, and why she may be a stalker? Thank you so much!  | |

She was a long time fan that used to post frequently on another Prince related board. Suposedly during high school, she told all of her friends she'd marry Prince some day.Some time afterward, she got a job as Prince's personal assistant and was there to "pick up the pieces" after Prince and Mayte seperated.
Some people here feel that because she had an oportunity that they didn't (but would given the oportunity) that Mani is evil.Who can really say? All we can do is speculate.Reguardless of how they got together, they are together for Lord only knows how long. | |

Plus how many high-school girls say they wanna marry their favourite actors or popstars? It's not like she was the first to say it, just it came true. Through her postings, she must have got 2 know some "insiders" in the Prince camp, 2 have known about the Personal Assistant job vacancy that was going and she must have pulled a few very cunning strings 2 have nailed the job!!! | |

They call her a stalker because catty bitches are just jelouse because they didn't think of chasing him first. Hell, I'm envious of Mani! I remember in jr. high and high school saying I'm gonna find Prince when I grow up, he's gonna fall in love with me and we'll get married!  Looks like she was a hella lot more ambitious than me to which I say GO MANI!!
But ya know what I wonder is if Mani let's Prince see other women. Honestly I don't think he has been with any other woman as long as he has been with Mani now and they seem to be going strong, but growing up a Prince fan I knew he liked lots of women and was always chasing pretty girls so I just could never see one woman holding his attention for very long. I mean he was married to the beautiful Mayte and he still had lots of girlfriends!! If he couldn't stay faithful to Mayte how could he stay faithful to Mani? I can't figure out if she is cool with him seeing women on the side or he is monogomous with her and if he is monogomous with only one woman for this long she must blow his mind in bed! | |

Anyways, here's a little story from a source who used to be very close to the inner circles of Mani. When Prince brought her in to become his assistant, he gave her a credit card to buy all of the things she thought would be neccessary for her to properly assist him. Anyways, she came back with what she needed and no more, and Prince was surprised by this. He was surprised that she didn't go out and spend more of his money and he compared this to how Mayte would've behaved. Anyways, Prince and Mayte were on the out and Manuella was on the in. [Edited 6/11/05 14:29pm] Well, I'm not sure if that would be a fair comparison. Mayte had been with Prince for a long time, and she had gotten accustomed to spending a lot of his money by then. I doubt if Mayte went crazy with his credit card the first time he let her use it. Of course Mani would only come back with what she needed. I would guess that most people would do the same. There's not too many people who are going to go crazy with someone else's credit card the first time they get to use it..   | |

I was not privy to inside information other than attending parties at Paisley Park from around 1998 until they were over. What i was feeling was more hurt than it was jealousy. I imagine i was projecting that imagage onto Mani because of some of my own assorted, previous experiences in life. I might have met one too many manipulative people which slants and shapes my view. We are all individuals with different perceptions and realities which determine our thoughts and assumptions. I understand that it may have just been my perception of her as a person and not the facts. The truth was that more than anything else i missed the Paisley Park jams. I couldn't help but associate that loss with Mani because once Prince married her, those jams were over. I never saw Mani dance or really get pumped up by the music so that may have contributed to the way i perceived her. But if the story is true about Prince picking her from the crowd to dance, then there's nothing to indicate that she had a stalker mentality. That sounds like Prince saw something he liked and then let Mani know how he felt about her. I'm sorry that i used the word to describe someone without knowing all of the circumatances. I mean in the past Prince always chased who he liked...he has always been a sexually agressive man...he always had bodygaurds grab the girl who caught HIS eye....I actually think an agressive girl chasing him would turn him off! Remember LaToya Jackson's encounter with him? She said he was VERY forward and started whispering in her ear about how sexy she was! Prince definatly likes to do the chasing so I can see him chasing Mani when Mayte's back was turned. | |
