I don't give a damn about Prince! why should I, he doesn't care for me! I'm in lust with him and that's it,....as for his music, I think he should retire. Let's face it, the old Prince we all fell in love with is dead.

Well, as a FAN you want ONLY the BEST for HIM.... OF COURSE you CARE but NOT to be OVERLY INVOLVED!!!

Yeah, I care about him as a person. I pray he finds what he's looking for and that all works out the best for him. If we never heard from him again except to know that he's at a good place, then I'd be happy for him. Ultimately, life ain't about the things we see or hear -- it's about who we are and how we affect the way others are.

I care about both because what's going on in Prince's life affects his music, both for good and bad.

My answer is that I think many of us truly care 4 Prince. We are happy when he has commercial success, even if the music is not immediately diggable. Also, can't wait 4 him 2 produce new music, and the best comes when he is in a positive state of mind (u can interpret that).

Both. I need his music like I need to breath....his music has been a part of my life ever since I can remember, ever since I started listing to music, which was pretty young.

But I also think he is a beautiful person inside and I do care about him. I'm sure if I met him I would have a great deal of affection for the man because he just seems like such a wonderful person. I relate to him alot. I think he once said he doesn't like being around people that much and his interests were music and sex. He obviously prefers fantasy to reality and I can totally relate to that! I know alot of people don't understand him and yeah sometimes he can be mean, or cruel or whatever but we all have our flaws and have done things we are not proud of but sometimes I think he is too beautiful, intelligent and sensitve for this world but I'm glad he is here to share his gift of music with us! Prince we really appreciate it!!!

Yes, I care about him, I can't help it. I've been touched by his music, I can relate to alot of his songs. Therefore I feel a personal connection though we never met. Sort of like a pen pal ya know.

If he passed tomorrow, I would feel like I lost a close relative.

I think it is from a humanintarian kind of caring.

Like I don't like that he has stopped playing some of my fave jams and acting provacative due to his conversion to J/W.
But as a person, I support his quest to find peace in his heart and soul and hope he finds salvation.
Now I am not trying to get all religious on y'all but I think it is a little callous the way some people have this attitude, "damn Prince trying to get right with God etc... I just wanna hear Darling Nikki".
He went thru some rough times and I know for myself, I found solace in God during my rough times.
I am not going to begrudge Prince that same comfort and peace of soul when it is time for him to lay down for the last time, just because I want to get my party on.

Of course I want the best for the man. I don't wish anything bad to anyone .

However, the music is the main priority to me . One thing I learned over the years, is that just because you enjoy or appreciate someone's art, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are a "good" person, or someone that you would really want to know. I've read a lot about several different artists, in different professions, and I was initially surprised at how so many great artists were assholes or bastards in real life ( for example- Miles Davis, Pablo Picasso, John Ford, Bob Dylan, Ernest Hemingway, Alfred Hitchcock, etc)

Prince may be the kind of person, like Madonna I presume as well, who you'd probably be better off knowing just their music, and not them personally ....

He's one of my favourite pop music artists, and the one I've had the longest interest in musically, so of course I wish him the best in his life, like I wish every other human being on the Earth.

I don't personally know Prince the person.
