Nope...in order, it's (1) Lovesexy '88--most versatile, (2) Musicology '04--best musicians, (3) Gold Experience '95--funkiest of all but least versatile of these 3 and fewer excellent musicians. | |

Matt Fink- Synths Mike Scott-guitar Tommy B.- Keys and hair flips Rhonda Smith- Bass John Blackwell- Drums Shelia E.- Percussion and backing vox Cat and Mayte- interpretive dance and booty bouncing Boni Boyer- backround singing/screaming Prince- any and everything else now thats cool! Prince never had a tighter sounding unit than the second NPG (93-96), the only proper NPG for that matter. | |

Lovesexy ’88 had the better chemistry together. The Sign ’O’ The Times and Lovesexy tours couldn't have been as great as they were, without them. NPG ’95 was cool, but one thing made them suck: Barbarella. Sonny and Michael were cool, but that sample playing girl made the band horrible. Musicology ’04, are great... most part thanks to Rhonda and Blackwell. No chemistry with the other players. They came off as hired musicians. Lovesexy Funkateer | |

Having experienced the '95 and '04 bands in person, and only the '88 on video - I'm gonna say the '95 band.
The '95 had a delicious mix of skill and personality that I like from Prince's bands. For me, it's less about how good musicians they are, because, let's face it, if you're in Prince's band, you're a great musician - but the Musicology band seem like a day-trip from the old folks home compared to the wacked out hippies from the '95 band. I mean, could you see Exodus being fronted by the Musicology band? Don't worry, I can't get pregnant - my ovaries are diseased...... | |

Lovesexy has been my favorite tour so far. Even better than the Purple Rain tour for me. That band was so tight they never caught a break. Every song flowed into the next and the setlist was versatile and amazing.
Everyone must get a show from this tour because it is amazing. | |

NPG! NPG! NPG! NPG! In my opinion the ORIGINAL NPG 93 - 96 was the best hes had. It just worked, it was so bad, funky, fresh and nasty at that time..ahh happy days!
