I've been listening to the Madhouse albums "8" and "16"... some of my favorite Prince "side project" music ever... I've heard it mentioned that Prince played all instruments on the "8" album (except for sax, of course...), but "16" sounds like more of a band effort to me... Does the band actually play on any of these tracks? ("The band" being Sheila E., Dr. Fink, Levi Seacer Jr...)

Interestingly.... 8 was recorded in just 4 days in late Sept/Early Oct, 1986. And 16 was recorded in just 1 week in late July/early August 1987, except Nine which was recorded in March the same year.

My personal favourite is 16, it's brilliant from start to finish and Fourteen is one of my all time fav. Prince tracks.
