ok this is the first time i've posted here. but i'm gonna tell it like it is.
why do people dog the song TAMBORINE! that is one of my favorite prince songs ever. it is so damn funky!!! i mean that shit really kicks.
Also my favorite song off parade is Life can be so nice
and off 1999 it is Automatic.
and i've seen people dogg both of those songs. i love prince when he does weird stuff. not the coventional pop songs that people are on. i mean i love the very obscure stuff. like from the rainbow children, " the sensual ever after" is so beautiful and i never hear anyone talk abut it.
also you can't deny that the solo at the end of the title track is one the best prince solos--- it is so damn smooth.
but anyway i just wanted to vent--- these songs are so dope like ronnie talk to russia, and annie christian. also some vanity6 make up!!! that shit is fucky!!

I love this track too! In DMSR it is mentioned that Prince was in a competition with Sheila during the recording of this track, and he's really trying to "do somethin'" on the drums...much zeal. Anyway, what the hell are trolley cars that juggle 17? And how come "tamborine" is sometimes replaced by "trampoline!" ?!?

I agree with you on Automatic. That's one of my favorites as well off 1999. Can't say that about Life can be so nice, though.

I keep noticing that for everybody who loves one Prince tune, another will absolutely hate it. I'm just thankful he puts out so much and lets me pick and choose what I need.

yo dance on is the shit, one of my favorite on lovesexy-- and album i think is really overratted.it's good but i just can't feel everything on there like the title track or glam slam---ugh! that song is awful

I honestly think there is too much bad-mouthing of Prince's music on this site. If you don't like a song, who cares! If you love a song, then share it with the world. Spread love, not hate. There are a few Prince songs that I don't care for, but there is so much more to listen to and enjoy that the 5% I don't like is irrelevant!

Ah... "Around the world in a day" I must admit, he almost lost me with that one. Tamborine, well, it's, a last minute addition to add length to the cd. The true stand out songs of that cd, this is my opinion, are Condition of the Heart (hated it for five years before I beagn to dig it) and The Ladder. My all time favorite song from 1999 is Something in the Water (Does not Compute).
