Good choice! Especially if he did the video with Gwen Stefani.

So Far, So Pleased indeed! Such a shame this wasn't the lead-off single to Rave. A real shame. With a hot video (and it'd definitely be hot so long as Gwen's in it), the song would have taken off.

I don't really like it either, but with a hot Gwen video it would have been a great hit.

Yeah, "So Far So Pleased" might have fared well. I don't know what the cut-off date for a "modern" Prince song is, but I still think "Sleep Around" would have made a good single and would have charted well. It's catchy and has a great hook--kinda like "Cream" and "7" from back in the day. And you can dance to it.

I'm almost inclined to say "1+1+1 Is 3" would have done well, but it's too esoteric with the "theocratic order" stuff. And I suppose a song where the chorus consists partly of a basic math problem wouldn't have worked. But then again, Fantasia's dumb-ass "Baby Mama" song has become a bit of a hit, and the chorus consist of background singers actually spelling out "Baby Mama."

It's no wonder why I mainly only listen to NPR nowadays! But I suppose I'm getting off topic. confused

All the songs mentioned already really do sound like they could have
been chart toppers with the right promotion and a slick video.
But that so un-Princely
If you will, so will I
