This should be simple enough. Let's say Prince's next album is a collection of re-recorded outtakes (there's no reason to believe that it is, so don't assume it from this thread). But anyway, which ones would you pick?


I'd pick ones that are pretty timeless. There's no point of Prince re-doing something like "Rebirth Of The Flesh" in the modern style. Of course, I'm sure there will be some a-hole that'll say "there's no point in Prince re-doing any of his songs. he should release them as is or come up with something new." well, hey, go to hell. this is just for fun. you'll get over it.

And by outtakes, I mean songs that he hasn't released as his own. You can come up with your own rules if you want, but I'm limiting mine to things that he hasn't released in his own versions.

So anyway, these are the ones that I think are timeless enough in their original versions (or simply as songs) to be able to handle (or to be improved upon) being re-done.

I like this idea. Something like Bowie's "Toy" project. Would definitely be interesting.

if he wanted to he could pick 15 or so songs that are already written
throw them into peoples faces
and make much $$$$$

i think he has many songs that have that "possible HIT" factor
