I know when I was a 8 I walked down to the video store and rented that every weekend for months!!!

As many times as I rented it back in the day, I'd say that figure's kinda low!

DVD sales is where the real money is at. That is where studios usually make back their money on films that flop at the box office. For films that were originally successful like 'Purple Rain', it's icing on the cake.

This is the Era when everyone finally had VCR's!

Rentals was the thing back then. You couldn't really even buy many VHS Movies. I remember I bought Raider of the Lost Ark for about $70

Thats how much Buying VHS Movies cost around this time period.
