DAAAAAMN this song is frekkin amazin. i could only imagine what yall thought when yall first heard this 20 some odd years ago. it is so out there and the beat is so current that it must have been innovative then. This song is border line from genius to WTF? but thats prince anyway.

damn, this song is halarious but sad at the same time. He is talking about different things that was goin on in the early 80s. i would like a deeper knowlege of the meaning of song if any of yall know anything.

i know this is one of many other boring newbie threads about how amazing a song is but fuck it. its that good for me to start a new thread.

I can't stand that song...but if you can see the awsomeness in that song more power to ya!

Love this song

Controversy is the best Prince album IMO, Annie Christian is one of those tracks that makes or breaks your love for Prince.

I think it's fabulous - it's avante guarde, it's pretentious, AND it's RAW, it's current in the best way.

It's a clear pre-cursor to 1999.

Love that song the guitar work does it for me, and the live version is good too.

'Bout time somebody gave props to this song... love it! It's like it jumped right outta Blade Runner, or something (in my opinion). It's the little gems like these where Prince always impressed me the most; Annie Christian, Something in the Water, I Wonder U, you know what I'm sayin'...
