Question about Gold Nigga I just bought one from Ebay but how can I tell if it is real and not a bootleg? Was this on NPG records?

I don't know, mine's a homemade copy. It should be obvious though, if it's real. What's making you question it?

But that won't necessarily tell you whether it's a boot (or pirate) - or not. 1. How many tracks are on it? 2. Tracklisting? 3. Any catalogue numbering / lettering? 4. Any stated country of manufacture? 5. Quality / images on cover and liner? 6. Colour of disc. If you can provide these details then that should help. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's getting like antiques road-show around here "Hmmm, an original Black Album vinyl edition - Oh yes, if you look here, you can see the catalogue number on the bottom, see? If it was in it's sealed wrapper, it would be worth £200, but in this condition, at auction, I would say £100, £150 for insurance purposes. But a lovely heirloom for your children, thanks for bringing it in... Next! Ah, the Goldnigga album, first pressing..."

It has 15 tracks but no numbers anywhere and the disc itself looks odd. It says NPG and then right under that is says "the NEWPOWERGENERATION" upside down. The inner booklet is two pages with nothing in the middle. Thanks for your help

Also, a legit 15 track version has ZOMAX OPTICAL-PLYMOUTH MN-Z10054 05651 >1005< etched on the inner ring of the disc. All orgnotes and emails requesting trades or how to acquire bootleggage will be ignored. - The ThreadKiller -

I just saw one that has 16 tracks..."Guess Who's Knockin'" which doesn't seem to be included in the other ones I've seen.
What's the story with that? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

What's the story with that? It was on an early pressing. It was removed on later editions as it contains a sample of a Wings song and I guess they couldn't be bothered with all the royalty issues.

So would the 16 track one be considered "original"? Is it more difficult to find than a 15 track album? Also, if you look up the album on allmusic.com it lists 21 tracks: Goldnigga, Pt. 1 Guess Who's Knocking Oilcan Segue Deuce and a Quarter Segue Black MF in the House Goldnigga, Pt. 2 Goldies Parade Segue Gether Segue Call the Law Johnny Segue Goldnigga, Pt. 3 12 Inch Mix Interview Enlightenment Jeep Mix Instrumental what's that all about? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

There are two official 16 track versions (without barcode, label and manufacturing info) that have teh following in the inner ring of the discs: Version 1: A logo of a circle with an A in it, "Disque Americ" "01S02GOLDNIGGA", under the Compact Disc logo it says "Made In Canada (This is the first pressing of the "GoldNigga" CD which was sold on various 1993 ACT II gigs in Europe and through 1-800-New Funk...) Version 2: "MFG BY CINRAM USA NPG-GN 1019-12" (This was the second pressing sold at the NPG stores and 1-800-New Funk...) Version 3: 15 track version that has the following in the inner ring: "ZOMAX OPTICAL-PLYMOUTH MN-Z10054 05651" (This is the third pressing that was sold online and through the NPG Stores...) Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O
