Let's GO Crazy- Perhaps the Greatest Pop SONG ever SOLD! I listened to this on the radio today. I really haven't listened to it in years. I mean really listening to all the parts and the amazing vocals. This song is amazing! We need Prince to write another song like this right now! The world is truly crazy right, now more than ever, and this song makes everything alright. I know many of you are sick of it, but really listen to it again like the first time you heard it, and appreciate what a great song this is and the amazing ease that Prince pulls off this song. Nothing like it. ______________________________________________

And that funky rhythm guitar and cowbells. I love how the whole band bends down with prince and he is backlit in the movie. too cool. ______________________________________________

The church organ intro.
The preacher like phrasing. The Linn Drum rim shots. The grungy guitar. The sense of purpose lead and background vocals. The Vanity 6 "Drive Me Wild" guitar riff in the middle. The staccato piano. It all collides like beautifully, wild, controlled chaos. It's Rock and Roll, baby. The 12" version. Yeah. That's the stuff. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Definitely! It's the very song that got me hooked on Prince music back in the day. And, like just about all of Prince's songs, it ages very well.

Actually, I think Let's go didn't age very gracefully. I've always detested the 80's drumsound, although Prince made it sound quite okay. But especially that rimshot-lick in Let's go, is just too 80's. And then you have that synthesizer at the end of the 12" version. That sounds just just like Ray Parker's Ghostbusters. Typically 80, and you can hear it.

I think WDC IS very 80's sounding but still, of course, AWESOME but LGC sounds as fresh to me today as it did in '84. That is the tune that if I am in a club or bar people really do go crazy for. It gets EVERYONE moving.

I loved the music that came out of that place. Music is always better when it's written and recorded in it's raw form, fancy studios kill the vibe. ______________________________________________

This song got me through the early mornings in Jr. High. "Everybody's looking 4 the ladder, everybody wants salvation of the soul. The steps u take r no easy road. But the reward is great 4 those who want 2 go.."

Oh, actually, I did mention I referred to the 12". Go listen! Sorry dude...I just listened to the 12", and I know what you are talking about. I was thinking you were talking about the very end of the song, with the guitar solo. I mentioned WDC just for the fact that I have always thought then end of that song with keyboard solo was just SO 80's sounding...

And 80s looking with the mirror-split view of that keyboard.
