I think the music, because I have noticed that I've been thinking things like "If he wan't so content would his music be better?" and anwering those polls here, like "would you rather have suffering Prince with amazing music or happy Prince with blah-usic", and I have always anwered for the good music.

I think it's very coldhearted thught, but I can't help it. It happens with all my favourites. I used to hope Lenny would cheat/get cheated/break up with "MayIsiton yourface" Lima, andI was so happy when I heard they were no longer together. Now, Mani is only a mild annoyance, but if they broke up I wouldn't be sad. I have strong opinions on who is a good choice for whom... I guess it comes from playing The Sims.

I dont think most people here at this board really care about Prince as a person cause alot of times people complain about how his religion as a JW has changed his music (like no more sexual songs/outfits) and about how Larry Grahm has a religious "hold" on him. Prince had a lot of pain in his life and I'm glad GOD gave him that
beautiful talent his music for every1 to hear and feel..

Sometimes I wish he would get really depressed and start making dark records again so in a way I guess I don't care.....but after I met him, I started caring more. To me, the healthier and happier he is now, the more likely we will get to see him in concert again.

Emancipation, IMO was one of P's better albums and he claims to be at his happiest when this album was composed. So I perfer him happy than depressed if it'll show through his music for the better, cause lately the shit he's been selling ain't even worth talkling about!

no, in 1996/97 when Prince was promoting Emancipation , he claimed he was a happy and free man and he claimed it was he happiest album! He says that in the Oprah interview and I believe the liner notes say something like that too, but Prince IS a known liar so.....


No, for real tho, IMO, it's his best album although some folks will disagree. Maybe I feel that way because that album made me a true fam and it wasn't CORNY sounding like alot of his other shit.... and more shit to cum!!

A lot of fans, including myself, feel that his best work comes from a dark place. When he's too content, his music's (usually) still fairly decent, but it doesn't really make you sit up and take notice.
