Purple Rain vs Graffiti Bridge days Ok we all know Purple Rain was by far a more entertaing movie, sex appeal, humor, better written, cinematography, I am not contesting that but I'm asking what era did you like more. Consider the music, his style, his message, his looks, his side prodjects, everything,
I prefer Graffiti Bridge far more than Purple Rain...I even watch the movie more than I do Purple Rain because I prefer the era. First of all I love Prince's message during it-meeting and listening to your spitual guide. Not too many movies are written about this,,,yet it wasn't all boring and preachy. There was sexiness, fun music, cool party sceanes. I jsut love the vibe. And I love the music too,,,expecially Theives in the Temple is like one of my favorite songs. Love his side prodjects he had going on too. The Time's Pandamoniom is like my favorite Time album-it is sooo funky! And I thought Robin Power was fun, sassy, sexy and was great in the movie! I loved Number 1 and the Uptown Dames ( hail the dames right artpal!) The music at the time was my favorite kinda Prince music-straight up fun, partytime funk!! He seemed to balance his spitual growth with still having a good time and just being an adult that wanted to party and have a good time.I guess that is what I'm trying to develop right now-balance of my spitual life and my party life...I truly belive you can have both. Oh yeah and he was F+++ING HOTTTTT during the era too!

Gee, I wonder which is gonna win.
Purple Rain by far. No question. Obviously now. That's like asking us "Whose input did you like better-Wendy and Lisa or Tony M?" [Edited 5/31/05 8:03am] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

The message in GB was hinted at, but never formalized. The live scenes in GB were sterile (video versions).
The music at the time had been floating around for months or years before it was released. That sometimes hurts the final product. It's great that you love it. It needs all the positive vibe it can get. Exactly what is '...just around the corner?'

P.R. : Great album, enjoyable film, good image, world class tour.
G.B. : Average album, terrible film, horrible image, first tour that was less than great. Gee, I wonder...

Come on now, Purple Rain for me. Although, I love the Graffiti Bridge movie and watch it more than the PR movie and also like most of the material from the flawed soundtrack-- the PR album is just the best of all-time and the movie is just one of my favorites...
