I think the song is about the power of the written word and education.
Yes, the double-entendre is about oral sex. Why does he skip the letter “G”? Perhaps it’s a clever reference to missing the girl’s g-spot. | |

Prince has said that he was kissing Cat during that moment on the song and she accidentally missed the "G". He thought that was funny so he kept it that way. | |

Alphabet Street is the section of New York City on the lower east side where all the shady people hang out. It is notorious for buying drugs & hookers to the locals at least back in the early 90's when I lived there.....hhmmmmm
