I just watched Graffiti Bridge last night after not seeing it for almost 4 years. I thought this was the worst movie ever and i could not believe Prince could make such garbage. UTCM may not have been Oscar worthy, but it had its moments and some good acting by Kristin Scott Thomas. I was bored and decided to give this movie another chance to see if i could find something good to say about it. Well here it goes:


WHAT WAS I THINKING? THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME!!!!


I cannot believe i ever hated this movie. It was fantastic. The music, cinematography, storyline; everything flowed very well and shows just how far ahead of us all Prince truly is. It has such a beautiful message. An angel from Heaven comes to Earth to make peace between two warring musicians. The plot alone is original and should have been nominated for Best Original Screenplay. No, i am not saying the movie deserved an Academy Award, but it was FAR from being the worse film ever. Ingrid Chavez put everything she had into her role and Jill Jones did the best she could with the small role she had. The musical performances were spectacular. I would put this film right up there with West Side Story. If any of you have not seen this film in a few years, I STRONGLY encourage you to give it another chance. It has aged very well and is truly a piece of art.

no slamming here!!! "utcm" is a great LOVE story...."gb" is a great "spiritual" story...

I agree. the same thing happened to me I definitely had to see GB again but UTCM is my favorite Prince movie-- I always cry at the end when he dies.

I dragged a friend of mine to the theater to watch it back in '90 and was embarrassed. I thought it was really bad. Over the years I've watched it a few times, but always the same. I love the album, but not the movie.

I like UTCM

The movie is dog shit.

Agreed. Although you can never trust a person who thinks Prince should be more like Billy Idol. Maybe a self parodying cameo in an Adam Sandler flick might help??

The movie suffers from poor production all around. It wasn't as if Purple Rain was a lot better of a story etc. However, people who knew how to make movies helped with Purple Rain. Graffiti Bridge was Prince tryin' to do too much at once.

well maybe if i see gb maybe i will like or try to like the movie anyway. i always want to give my boy p movie a chance. thats how loyal of a fan i am.

I'm really fucken tired of people slamin GB.

If u cant get anything out of it--dont fucken watch it. Go see Star Wars again...and take your opinion with you.

Graffiti Bridge is posibly one of the worst movies evr and under the cherry moon is possibly the dumbest moive evr Prince's acting is just plain horriffic
