I WAS DISSAPOINTED WHEN I FIRST HEARD PURPLE RAIN.... When i first got the Cd i was expecting to hear ALL The tracks from the movie and i was really disapointed when only the prince tracks were on it. don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the Prince tracks(except Take me with you  )but what happened to "modernaire" + "sex shooter" and all the others?  it seems like a slap in the face to all Morris day + dez to not have thier songs included on the original soundtrack"Americans consume the most fast food than any nation on Earth and the stupid motherfuckers wonder why they are so fat? I heard that it was originally Prince's intent to have all the songs from the film on the Purple Rain album but for some reason he scrapped the idea and just kept his songs on it. I'm sure someone on here like Langebleu or Boris Fishpaw knows much more about what was going on during the making of Purple Rain but that's what I know. [Edited 5/26/05 21:32pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Outdated crap like Sex Shooter and Modernaire would've tainted PR so much it's not even funny. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I think at this point I don't see it as a soundtrack, anyway, but a proper Prince album. | |

I have seen it included in several Best Soundtracks lists( like VH-1 or other T.V. entertainment mags ), so it's easy to see how some may it that way. | |
